Blink and you’ll miss it – these past 12 months have flown by at Sims Advertising. 2021 has been a challenging yet rewarding year as we continue to emerge from the pandemic and adapt to a new way of living. We are optimistic that there are brighter times ahead in 2022 and anticipate that all staff will return to the office in the near future.
In 2021, we continued to navigate the various and changing government regulations designed to help stop the spread of COVID-19, which impacted both the agency and our clients. In the midst of it all, we helped our clients overcome these challenges and deliver timely messages to their customers through both traditional and digital initiatives.
In this blog, we recap some key highlights from 2021. Let’s start from the beginning…
December 2020-January 2021
In the lead-up to World Juniors in December 2020, we designed and developed an internal hockey pool for TIMBER MART Dealers to raise money for Timerkids charitable foundation. This was a great start to the New Year.
February
The Sims team then participated in Dry Feb, raising over $4,600 for the Canadian Cancer Society, and showed our support for one of our dear friends and colleagues who is currently battling cancer.
March
In March, we acknowledged the 1st anniversary of our ‘pack up and head home’ day after the pandemic catapulted us into a never-before-seen lockdown. As many of our designers are on desktop Macs, this meant packing up desks, computers and all, and getting everyone situated at home in record time. The two-week work-from-home lockdown turned into 52 weeks by March 2021.
November
November marked 30 years of Sims Advertising! Many of our clients know that we are big fans of getting together for events. Celebrating our 30th year remotely was a hard pill to swallow, but we’re glad to be here with the same values that have kept us going for the past three decades. We continue to celebrate our 30th year in 2022. In November, we also welcomed back our talented digital marketing expert, Stephanie, from maternity leave.
December
On December 1, we were invited to attend the inaugural Holiday Handbags event for St Joseph’s Villa Foundation. The evening raised a whopping $180,000 for the foundation. To wrap up the year, Sims participated in our Annual Snowsuit Drive. We collected much-need winter clothing donations for Eva Rothwell Centre in Hamilton this year.
As we approach the new year, we continue to be grateful for the support of our clients and community. We look forward to the new milestones and highlights to come in 2022.
